Phyllis Shaughnessy lives in Gray’s Harbour, Washington. There are many low-income families in this city. During the school year, children get reduced price meals in schools. But when summer comes, children don’t have enough food. Phyllis Shaughnessy helps about 200 of such children in the summer.

“You’re offering the children hope and love and a lunch,” Shaughnessy said. “They need to know someone cares. We’re all put on this earth to do something. Better to give than to take.”
